My interest in how hypnotic techniques are employed in presentation skills and what makes great orators was the reason for seeking out Ormond McGill's works. However, having been a participant in research on past life regressions this book was no stranger to my experiences.
It is a fascinating account of how life continues and how people when released from the limitations of their “conscious' mind, can tap into something that is greater. For the person who is a serious spiritual seeker, this type of book is one of encouragement, support and nourishment. It helps a person to gain insights into oneself through the life/birth/death cycle and to appreciate that even though one may not have conscious recall that many of our decisions and choices are based on who we truly are as “greater beings' on a journey towards enlightenment.
The writing style is easy to follow, the story is verified through checking things out, which I believe is important. It was one of the things I valued most when I was partaking of regression work. By getting verification both the participant and the observer partaking in the work are able to alleviate any inner fears about the imagination and its impact upon recall. For someone who is afraid of death and the process of dying reading books such as this I believe will go a great way to alleviating the fear. The interesting thing is that those of us who have participated in regressions discover that most of our lives have been fairly mundane and ordinary and that our tasks have been to grow as beings of love. This love is tempered with each cycle and our ability to learn to open our hearts more to love is allowed with each cycle. Regression work offers the reader to glimpse beyond the veil and into their own past and why they make choices the way they do and ultimately how they are in control of their destiny.
A delightful easy read that I am going to page through again and also share with the people whose research programme I took part in. After all, comfort in knowing that we are truly connected to Source, is something that lies deep within us and stories such as these offer just that ” comfort through knowing we are divine and on a glorious adventure called LIFE.
