Over the past few years there has been a renewed debate concerning the evolving nature and trajectory of the education system in England. Several publications have offered deconstructions and critiques of the current system, but have been less specific in sketching out clear, coherent system-level alternatives. This book offers a clear and critical overview of issues central to the future of education in England, exemplifying them through both personal reflection and publically available publications. In a relatively short book this would be extremely useful in its own right, but an alternative, coherent and radical vision of education is also offered which should give anyone interested in the future of education in England pause for thought as well as a potential blueprint for changing the nature of teacher work.
