The author has spent half a lifetime working with inner-city kids and has helped them discover an entirely new view of themselves. This book covers, in highly irreverent manner, most of the tricks of the trade, from the minutiae of how to manage difficult classes through to what teachers should be looking for when marking work. Phil Beadle is scathing about much of the guidance that comes down from on high and remains cheerfully creative and enthusiastic about teaching.
