The LPA is a very useful and realistic theory about teaching. It is a pedagogical approach with a worthy aim that puts language about learning at the forefront, focuses on strengths rather than weaknesses, helps us to conceptualise progress in students' learning, and explains how to work towards developing independent, responsible learners.
Powering Up Students links together LPA theory, real examples from high school classrooms, and useful discussion around the implementation of the approach. It will empower high school teachers to make changes in their classroom practice and help them to enhance students' ownership of their own learning.
